The Speed of Sand

Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado

Einstein's concept of what you would see of light while travelling at the speed of light: "...I should observe such a beam of light as an electromagnetic field at rest, though spatially oscillating."

The Dunes are in constant upheaval, moving at something between human and geological time, rolling and breaking on the Sangres. Here you move with the Dunes, in Dune time, a field at rest.

Amazing shot. Kinda puts things into perspective sometimes, huh? That this world is so big, and we are so small. That sometimes something as beautiful as sand can have our imprint on them! Great composition uncle!

Fantastic. Love the colors and composition -- and lighting! It has so much texture -- almost feel like I could touch it.
