In Carl Orff's "Der Mond", three lads steal the moon from a tree outside a tavern.
As each one dies, he takes his third of the moon into the grave with him.
The light from the moon awakens the dead. They reunite its pieces and its light makes them rowdy.
They raise such a ruckus dancing, fighting and gambling that they awaken Saint Peter, who levels a comet at them.
He arrives on the scene and demands to know what the lighted orb is. "That is the Moon!" the dead reply.
He reclaims the moon and as dawn breaks, order is restored and we again hear the eternal snoring of the dead.
This is such a moment, through the trees of La Veta's cemetary.
