First, I made a color wheel image:
1. Open new image with Transparent background
2. Circle marquee, filled with spectrum color with Angle Gradient option
3. New smaller circular selection in center of circle and delete to open up the center
and make a "real" wheel on transparent background.
Save as PSD file for future use.
Open photograph image.
1. Drag the color wheel image onto the new image.
2. Make a combined layer with Shift + Ctrl + Alt + N, then Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E.
2. Add adjustment layer to the top of the stack and watch the color wheel change
as the colors, levels, or curves are adjusted.
3. Hide color wheel layer and combined layer to see the image color change without the wheel
Note how the color wheel in the photograph has changed from the original color wheel
This actually appears to be the change as the bars at the bottom of the Adjustment Dialog box.
