The trip took place from May 29th to June 14th. For the most part I was with a tour group traveling the popular western route, then an extended trip to the southeast on my own with a private guide/driver.
Turkey is twice the size of France, with 97% of its land in Asia and 3% in Europe. Already a NATO member, it is being considered to become an EU member. The country produces most of the world's hazel nuts and pistachios, exports its high quality towels, olive oil and apricots. 95% of its petrol consumption depends on Iraq. During my visit the price was 4USD per gallon, 75% of it goes to tax.
