Ian Smith, Premier of Rhodesia in the RTV studio, Salisbury, during the negotiations with Britain in 1965. Pictures on the wall show one of the two most incompetent politicians Britain has suffered in the past 100 years, Harold Wilson, Prime Minister, who if not an actual Soviet agent certainly did as much damage to Britain as if he were. He was accompanied in the negotiations by George Brown, Foreign Secretary, the habitual drunkard, who was never sober long enough to understand what was happening. Sadly all Ian Smith's predictions for the future of Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) came true, massacres of political opposition, corruption and eventually a starving oppressed population in a land that exported food widely prior to black rule.
