Sleeping after first rebirth 060530

Today was the day; I received the cord blood.

It was a very demanding day for me and I slept most of the time.

The transplant was unspectacular: the cord blood came in two small packages which were warmed within a water bath to 37°C. The contents were then mixed up with another agent before infusion.

During infusion, there again was a terrible scent and taste of garlic, which stems from the conservating agent used.

After infusion, my urine became as red as blood - that's because there were Erys within the cordblood which were broken down inside my body and then released through the urine.

My blood pressure also was high for some hours.

The title of the image is "borrowed" from an old techno song "The First Rebirth" (c) by Jones and Stephenson.

I found this title fitting, because to receive cord blood means, in a sense, a new birth.
