Lack of the Goldeneye's white circle above bill

East Machias, ME

This feature is what drew my attention to this individual. A faint white patch is evident behind the eye due to a small group of white feathers , which probably originated from Hooded Merganser genes. Then I noticed the rather elongated bill with "teeth".
