It was wonderful to hear the birds welcoming in spring with their song and this fellow was joining right in with the chorus. He seems to fit the description of an immature male Red-winged Blackbird. The books say the immature males can be mostly black with buffy edges to their feathers, their epaulettes can vary from brown to red, and males may take three years to become entirely black.
