These are a few miscellaneous photos taken from roadside viewpoints along Highway 542, the Mt. Baker Highway. Most are taken near its terminus at Artist Point. They were taken at various times in various seasons with all sorts of lighting:
Yeah Shuksan shows up everywhere even though its not a mountain that is a household name by any means. For some reason I guess that I never did make it up to the Baker/Shuksan area in 2004. Hopefully I'll be up there a few times this coming year.
I enjoyed Table Mtn more than I htought I would for a hike so close to a road and parking lot and so many people. Nice views all around in many directions and you can wander around on the table rim.
I don't agree with the NW Forest Pass but that's the current political game so I abide by the rules.

I was wondering when you would get to this underappreciatied area. I think that Shuksan must be the most photographed and least known mountain in the continental U.S. Dawn and Dusk are the times to be there, because of crowds during most days. Table Mountain can be magical when you have it to yourself.
Did you object to the ubiquitous "parking" fees?
