This is short little trail through an ancient grove of trees. Because the trees are on an island amid the Ohanopecosh River they are relatively safe from fire and have survived hundreds of years to grow quite large. A few of those pictures are from either 2002 or 2003 when conditions were sunny and somewhat troublesome for photography. The majority are from September 2004 when a light rain and overcast skies made the conditions a bit more favorable. In general I think forests have much more lively colors with a coating of rain. A few of these photos have a little glare, I don't have a circular polarizer yet for my new Nikkor lens but for the most part they came out OK:
Thanks Dave. It is hard to convey the size of the trees. I probably should have gotten some pics with me in them for scale. Also, you're so close to them on that boardwalk that with my 18mm [x1.5 FOV crop] I was unable to get the entire height of the trees in any single photo. A super wide angle or fisheye would be needed and unfortunately I have neither.

One of the more magical places anywhere! Hard to get good shots such as you have done...too dark, too light, too close, etc. These trees are so huge, it is almost impossible to convey the scale. You have done very well!!!
