Kev,

The photos of Corsica look like they'll be good once you put them up in a less compressed form. I like the one of Jeanette and of the two girls together.

Having looked at your entire album again with fresh eyes, I agree with one of the previous posters that the London shots at night are the best gallery and I do love the Harrods firework one. My favourite remains, however, the lucky woodpecker-on-the-feeder shot.

Why are you compressing on an i-paq?? I thought one of the advantages of having a laptop were that you don't really have to have that much camera RAM since you can download your day's worth of photos every night back at the hotel. Why then use your handheld to compress them? However, considering the byte-size of the pictures, I am impressed with their quality. I'll come back and have a look at the full size shots when you put them up

Cheers,

Phil.

Hi Kevin,

I finally managed to browse some of your albums (I'm currently on vacation). Really good stuff. I'll be back ;-)

all of these shots have been taken on my digital cameras - I have recently borrowed a slide scanner, so I will try to get around to the old Asian shots, but it is a matter of finding the time.

Cheers

like your pictures - nothing from the far-east (Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong etc) ?

Hi Kevin - I was looking at reviews of this camera and noticed the family name. Then I saw your comment about the autofocus being poor at airshows...aircraft photography being one of my passions! I'm a long-time Contax/Yashica SLR user, and have recently started transferring my thousands of aircraft slides to CDrom using the excellent Minolta Scan Dual III scanner. I bought a Canon Powershot A40 digicam to see what digital photography was all about and while it's adequate it doesn't cut it for real photography, hence my quest for something better. The Dimage 7i appeals because it uses AA batteries and CF cards (like the Canon). The 7Hi appeals more because of the rubber grip etc but is too expensive. I have 3 sets of NiMH batteries, but it seems the 7i is a power-guzzler! Unlike the Canon.

I guess you live in the USA? I live in Cornwall, UK. I hope you will send me an email and maybe a few examples of your airshow pictures!

Hi - just dropped by as I am looking to buy my first digital camera and was interested to hear what you thought of the minolta 7i. I read the report and clicked to your sit - very impressive - hope mine turn out half as good!

Hi Kev,

Nice pics - think the London nights is the best gallery. Particularly good shot of the Wheel, and Harrods fireworks.

Kev

Only one picture from the SA3 / GSM Meetings, and that of a norwegen flag? are you careful not to put pictures with people in them on the web?
