21 - L'Escalier du Diable - Ligeti

A little more than a year ago I made a picture for the Totally Informal Thursday Transglobal Challenge.
The challenge theme was: "dereliction". Click here for my entry. It was called: Not a Stairway to Heaven.

I wonder ... is "Not a Stairway to Heaven" the same as "The Devil's Staircase"?

Instrumental - on piano: Greg Anderson

Hmmm, if you just add the equation, there could be equalisation, but usually you go down to hell... anyway I do... :) Love the color scheme and craquelure.

Fantastic effect with the treatment of the staircase & fine virtuosic fireworks on the piano - Ligeti is no mean feat! v

It definitely has a creepy feel to it. The music is perfect with the picture. v

Love the mood that the processing gives to this, excellent work. V

I think the opposite of Stairway to heaven is 'Highway to hell' by AC/DC (LOL). You can take this for both, depends from which side you start. I like the tones and light in here. v

To me they are not the same. The stairway to heaven is paved with gold....I don't think I'd want to take the stairway to the devil. Torment is not my idea of a good time for eternity. Great shot, though and great song.

Stairway to Heaven, I thought... love these steps, and you captured them so beautifully. The tint works phantastically well!

I remember that original picture and it had a somewhat different mood to this! Amazing how sombre it has become with your extra processing. Great work. -v-
