Holden, MA- Phones started ringing off the hooks at the Holden Police Department just before 9pm on 25th of September. The callers were reporting that a car had crashed into a local pizza shop on Main Street.

Police were first to arrive on scene. They found a Ford Expedition had crashed into the store front of Orbit Pizza at 985 Main Street. The sole occupant, a 19 year old male, still trapped in his vehicle. The car had breached the store front causing major structural damage to the store. The store was closed at the time of the accident.

Holden Jakes used hydraulic rescue tools to pop the driver side doors and also to cut the “B” post of the full size sport utility. The Incident Commander called for Lifeflight helicopter from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center to respond to the scene. Additional Holden Fire personnel set up a landing zone in a parking lot at Wachusett Extended Care on Boyden Street. The victim was quickly extricated and packaged for transport to the landing zone.

Before the suv had hit the store it struck a light pole and crashed into a parked car.

The accident is under investigation by the Holden Police. Traffic was detoured off of Main Street while the scene was cleaned up and cleared out.
