Observers at Concordia College, about 25 miles north of Milwaukee, watch the sunrise over Lake Michigan on June 8, 2004. The sunrise was a bit unusual as the planet Venus was visible to the naked eye as it crossed the sun's face. The humid morning made a natural solar filter as the sun rose through the haze that covered the lake. The photo was taken with a Nikon D100 and a Nikon 300mm f/4 lens, hand held.
