Lisboa - Portugal

Between 1999 and 2000 I spent one year in Lisbon - I studied, worked and had one of the best times of my life. I love this town, I love its contradictions, its light, its colours, its atmosphere, its music, its people, its magic.
I've been lucky enough to go there again this year, just one week visiting a great friend, but it was enough to let again the magic of this special place surround myself. This is not a gallery of common postcards from Lisbon - this is what caught my attention, what I saw behind the corners and what I brought back home. I hope you enjoy it!

My God! You captured Lisbon in such a candid way! I lived in Lisbon for about 5 months and these pictures almost made me cry because it reminded me of so many of the little things I had forgotten! Portugal is so rich in culture and the people of Lisbon have to be the nicest I've encountered. I long to just walk through Lisbon seeing everything again. Thank you for taking me back to Lisbon if only through your beautiful pictures.

Just got back from a marvellous week in Lisboa. Saw your gallery before and was already very impressed. Now even more for bringing back the peace I felt and the atmosphere I enjoyed during my short stay in this beautiful capital just by looking at these photo's. A truly outstanding gallery.

Elisa É a confirmação de tudo o que lhe tenho dito sobre a sua sensibilidade e oportunidade para "ver o mundo" através da sua máquina. Acho que retrata muito bem Lisboa. Para ficar a 100% só lhe falta uma "vista" sobre o fado, embora isso não diminuia o espectacular conjunto de fotos em que até o pastel de nata nos põe cheios de apetite tal o realismo. Muitos parabens, tenha sempre confiaça em si e nunca desista. João

Ciao Elisa, I have discovered your superb gallery, coming from dpreview, as "Lisbon" always catches my eyes. Your photos and post shooting work are simply marvellous. I used to spend one week in Lisbon and took some pics :http://www.pbase.com/papy/2004_05 This shows the difference between an artist and a "pictures taker", and how much one can learn by looking at your work.
