This is the second gallery devoted to countries of Alpine region. The first one could be seen at https://pbase.com/eldarrio/alpine_countries . We came back to Germany, our second Faterland, after 12 long years of absence and also decided to explore the rest of Alpine region. So, what did we find there... The same warmhearted and wonderful people who smile to you not just because they need your business, crisp and refreshing beer coupled with authentic national cuisine, freedom of flying at any speeds on autobahns, majestic landscapes, stunning castles and romantic medieval towns, rich culture and amazing national heritage, and, most of all, freedom of being really free which you could feel only in Europe... Greetings in German and Swiss mean simply "Hello", this is just the way they greet you over there. I hope you make your way through all pages, they are all equally good, or maybe horrible :-), but I did try to keep them as entertaining as possible. Please, click on thumbnails to open the image. Music background based on German folklore songs, classics and even marches of Third Reich :-), is part of every image. So, you might want to turn your speakers on. Intersting -the colors are like, penthouse magazine meets walt disney. Like reverie segue-ing into a wet dream. Very intersting. If You are really a fanatic of contrasts try lots of balck and whites...

Hmmmm... Very interesting observation, though there are couple of reasons behind the way the gallery is structured. First is that it was one trip when I visited 5 countries and pretty much in the same georaphic region. The second one is that , in my view the gallery looks more visually appealing and entertaining for an eye when you jump from one surprise to the other. I guess sub-galleries would make this page way too busy and people would not even look in to getting deeper in to subs... What do you think , Marisa ?

A fascinating gallery! You really did a great PP work on your pictures! I love all the subjects , the only thing I would disagree with is the way you chose to put all together what you call "Alpine Countries". Actually I don't see any link, culturally and socially speaking between Strasbourg and Luzern , for example. I dare to suggest humbly to separate your wondereful work in sub-galleries. But it's so subjective... Thank you for the visual pleasure! Marisa
