By winning the GBOB Germany 2006 National Final, Amplify have earned the right to compete with 25 other bands from around the world at the London Astoria on Tuesday December 12 2006. The winning band on the night will not only win the GBOB Best New Band in the World title but also the first prize of $100, a World Tour and three Gibson guitars!
Amplify demonstrate just how good melodic punk can be. Catchy songs with tightly-honed harmonies driven by a relentless beat and topped with an energetic live performance is a winning formula. And so it has proved – Amplify have won almost every band competition around Hamburg now have a chance to win the biggest of them all at the Astoria in December
Forget about artificial X-Factor and Pop Idol-style competitions and all the other glorified karaoke rubbish out there, The Global Battle of the Bands is about real bands playing real music - live. There are just two rules: no cover songs and no pre-recorded music.
