Thunderstorms boomed at least twice the night we arrived, and the morning started with a constant rain. Since it was also a Monday, we went to the only museum open on Monday mornings: The Musée d'Histoire des Sciences, with what turned out to be a magnificent collection of antique scientific instrument, from astronomy to medicine.
As we finished up, the rain looked like it was lifting. We decided to take a chance on the Jardin Botanique - several dozen acres carved out with greenhouses and other research facilities. Slowly, the clouds lifted, and as we headed toward the shore of Lac Leman, we were greeted by the sight of an incredible carousel made in an antique fashion.
We then walked along the lakeshore back toward the city, and captured many interesting views. We stopped for lunch along the row of hotels fronting the Rive Droite. I had the regional speciality of perch filets, while Debby had a Genevois chicken.
