Transition from color to B&W - view starting at the upper left in a CW direction. My continuing saga of learning to make better black & white images. The final is directly below the color.
The difference between the next to last and last isn't that obvious in this reduced version but believe me it's there. The final has improved tonal contrast and the details in the darker areas like the lower center really pop. The transition between these last two was achieved using the Nik Color Efex Pro 3's Tonal Transition Filter at its default settings. Also hard to see here but true - the detail in the B&W is better than in the color.
