Got up way too early to drive 40 miles to the Virginia State Arboretum; wanted to get there shortly after sunrise to try for a new shot of Dogwood Lane. Did that, but the new shot wasn't nearly as good as last year's. Here's last year's in an "out-of-frame" version. http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/57375478
Instead, for today's PAD I shot "The Quarters", part of an old farm now used as the arboretum's admin building. I like shooting landscapes with a strong foreground element (the blossoms in this case). I think that doing so results in a much better image - provided that you get everything from near to far in sharp focus (near in this case was a foot away).
