Stumbled across this doe (plus another doe & buck grazing together) while hiking through dense fog at Shenandoah National Park. I set up my tripod and they kept grazing - not very concerned about my presence. In this shot, she's about 5 feet away - I could hear her chewing (and my hearing is terrible so you know she was close).
