04/18/09 - Tick, Tick, Tick

An early wildflower, named Spring Beauties, growing in a grove of Loblolly Pines - thus the pine cone & needles. What you don't see are the ticks (we're blessed with both the Lyme disease and the Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever types). I've been known to come home with a sizable collection of both - maybe I can breed a hyrid. Do you think that laying on the ground to take wildflower photos has anything to do with it?
