You'll notice that my camera club winner's stopped in fall of 2006. That coincides with when I stopped entering club competitions (and not a decline in the quality of my images, I hope). Photos are in chronological order based on competition dates - not shot dates - with the most recent winners are at the top. Switched camera clubs for the 2005-6 competition year - bigger club, lots of competition, rules require unmanipulated images (except in "enhanced" category). Won 2005-2006 Advanced Colored Prints Photographer of the Year & Most Versatile Photographer of the Year (most total points with awards in at least three categories). In a real surprise, I won the award for the Top Print of the Year in both Color and Monochrome (and got 2nd in the remaining print category - enhanced - as well as 2nd in B&W to go with the 1st). An embarrassment of riches. I like most of these images - but not all. Some I entered because I felt that it would do well given the judge or nature of the competition. Unto thine own self be true - so after 2005-6 I stopped competing. No more pandering to judges, no more stress - I went out on top.
