What I like about this image is the juxtaposition of the crowd, balloons, and shadows
on the ground. Other than that it's actually a rather poor scan from Kodachrome (some
scanners don't play well with Kodachrome), with a bit of LucisArt Sculpture filter
thrown in to obscure the scanner artifacts. :-)
Trivia: The mountain in the background on the right is Pikes Peak (14,115 feet/4,302
meters). In 1893 the view from Pikes Peak provided Katharine Lee Bates the inspiration
for the song "America the Beautiful" (..."purple mountain majesties..."), which is the
National Hymn of the United States (not to be confused with the national anthem,
which is of course "The Star Spangled Banner").
