The Many Places of Lenin

Every large or mid-sized city has at least one statue of Lenin left. Cities such as Moscow have several. Statues were usually located in a central square so they have remained. I have taken to collecting pictures of the various Lenin's I have run across so I thought I would put them all together here.

This Gallery has now become an obsession of mine to find more Lenin's. Once I really started looking I found more and more. "LENIN LIVES" was once the slogan........seems he has?

Update: This gallery started as a bit of whimsy but I had no idea how many Lenin's there were out there. This has now become a mission if not an obsession to find the next Lenin. I even plan my internal travels (Russia)around where the "Local Lenin" or as in most cases "Lenin's" are located. I hope you enjoy my twisted sense of humour!

2008: I just returned from tour D'Lenin taking in the city of his birth, Ulyanovsk, along with Saratov and Volgograd

2011: My wife just returned from summer vacation in Russia which included several trips to the "provinces" lucky for me! She returned with several new Lenin's and gets the photo credit as well.

AKR, Thank you. I travelled across much of the old Eastern block and those countries were pretty quick to pull Old Vlad down as a symbol of Russian tyranny. I will however continue to look. I did come across a Lenin bust in Toronto some years ago but alas, I was without camera. Regards, David

It may be wonderful if you add statue of Lenin outside of former USSR. or example, there is one in Calcutta- the capital of British India from 1757 to 1911. You amy add that one.Similarly, possibly statues of Lenin may be in China, Vietnam, Cuba. It may be interesting to know whether statue of Lenin still esists in East European countries.If so, those may be added.
