The play was fiction of course, but the Veronese are capitalizing on it. There is a museum at the Casa di Giulietta (that's Julie's house!) with a statue of her in the courtyard of the typical 14th century house. There is a large arena in the city, one of only a few left from the 1st Century. A considerable portion of the ornate stone facade is missing, but the limestone block seating is still quite intact. There is a major opera festival held there during the summer, as well as other concerts during the year.
(August 2007, added/replaced some shots scanning from the negatives. Dec 2008, finally did scans of APS negatives.)
