This is the trail section starting from just south of Salford Station Road and the Harmon Road Access. This gallery was kicked off with shots of the old wooden bridge that carried Salford Station Road over the railroad/trail right-of-way. The reason being the imminent demolition of the bridge in early March 2011. As such, there was to be a temporary trail detour. (The shots have been moved to a sub-gallery here.)
This trail segment is quite near the Old Pool Farm where the annual Philadelphia Folk Festival is held in August each year.
In March 2011, word was the bridge was to be replaced. Later in the summer we found instead the elevation of Salford Station Road was dropped and the trail was ramped up on each side cross at grade. While likely a significant cost reduction, that means yet another road crossing, with another only about 200 yards north.
