This is a section of former Pennsylvania RR right of way running west through Betzwood, and between the Schuylkill River and the US 422 Expressway to the vicinity of Oaks, PA. Just east of the Betzwood trail head one can take a side trail south across the US 422 bridge over the Schuylkill River and connect into the trails and drives of Valley Forge National Historic Park. It appears this link might be closed at least occasionally for construction. There is a major reconstruction project underway on 422 from the King of Prussia area up into Berks County. Many bridges will be replaced and entry and exit ramps brought up to current design standards. The good news is, a separate trail bridge is in the works for Betzwood; the bad news is it's targeted completion date is a bit elusive.
To the west, one passes a trail head at Pawlings Road which offers a connection to Audubon, and Mill Grove, the John James Audubon Center. Further west, the trail crosses a concrete multiple-arched bridge over the Perkiomen Creek where a hairpin ramp drops down to connect to the Perkiomen Trail northbound through Lower Perkiomen Park, a Montgomery County Park. At that junction, one can pass under the bridge to the south to continue on the Schuylkill River Trail toward the town of Mont Clare, across the Schuylkill from Phoenixville. Currently the dedicated trail ends between those two points.
