The idea of a tripod and cable release came up while photographing some fireworks. We have
lots of tripods, but no cable release for the G15. Turns out a third party unit was available for
about one eigth of what a wired remote costs for the EOS DSLR! It also seemed with a filter out
on the front, a lens hood might be desirable, so we picked up a generic 58 mm metal hood.
