In theory, a perfectly cylindrical piece can be made with a two-piece mold, but using three makes
the work less critical. In the background may be seen the master pattern from which these molds
were made. The lamp shape, reminiscent of typical objects that are part of suburban living,
is made out of plaster, turned on a lathe especially made for use with large plaster objects.
