This is a picture of the latest incarnation of a flash rig I use for macrophotography.
It's a D200 with a Tamron 90 mm f/2.8 1:1 macro lens. The lens has a 55-77mm step-up ring, then a Canon 500D closeup diopter.
There's a Sigma EM 140 DG macro flash attached to the front of the 500D.
I also have an SB-800 on the side, attached with a Manfrotto macro flash bracket. The SB-800 is attached to the D200 with a PC sync cable. I set the power on the SB-800 manually, and use the Sigma in TTL mode. Finally, I put a Lumiquest bounce attachment on the SB-800. I angle the flash so that it's light comes from high and to one side.
Sorry for the poor lighting. The picture was taken with a point-and-shoot with it's built-in falsh, so it's not a great picture, but at least you can see the rig.
