Painted Lady Butterfly 0213 (V39)

A striking "Painted Lady" butterfly I saw in my garden. The tops of its wings look dramatically different than the undersides. This image shows the tops. See the previous image @ http://www.pbase.com/duncanc/image/31318755 for a view of the undersides.

Shot with a Tamron 90 mm f/2.8 1:1 macro lens and a pair of flashes on a Manfrotto flash bracket (see picture @ http://www.pbase.com/image/19220130. )
