This is the hardest piece I've tackled. It has faceted stones that needed specular light in order to sparkle, and a crystal that couldn't have excessive glare on it. Also, it has mirror-like shiny surfaces.
If I use direct light to accent the stones, I have to use a 45 degree angle so the crystal isn't blown out with glare. At that angle, though, tiny surface scratches on the shiny metal surface look much too prominent. (They're almost invisible to the naked eye.)
I ended up using a composite of 2 images, one with fairly flat light, and one with specular light, and merged them in Photoshop.
