When the snow started falling and piling up, I headed out for a drive on the backroads of the Cuyahoga National Valley Recreation Area. It's pristine land with some really secluded gems for walking and being away from it all. I entered into a snow-covered meadow to be surrounded by about 30 or 40 Cardinals. Nothing but red birds flying all over and around me. Once I settled into my spot, they were congregating 2, 3, sometimes 5 at a time on branches unafraid of my intrusion. It was a pretty surreal moment, sitting and being in the middle of them all. The whole bird watching thing to me is pretty lame but todays PaD just materialized in front of me with no effort on my part other than watching it unfold in my viewfinder.
