Today was an important day for Madelyn. She had her second stage BAHA
(bone anchored hearing aid) surgery done.
She had her first stage done back on May 16th.
In the first stage, a small titanium receiver is implanted into the skull, and in the second stage which was done today,
a small bolt, and skin graft around it is put into the now healed first stage.
In about 6 weeks she will get her new digital hearing aid. Which will allow us to dump the 2 piece wired one we use now, and significantly improve her quality of hearing.
She came through surgery with flying colors, and she didn't even have to stay over night at the
Hospital for Sick Children
