Note the ding at the bottom of the cylinder base. This is what happens when you drop the con rod. It's a future oil leak.

Place wooden dowel or stick across lower cylinder studs and under the connecting rod, to prevent con rod from falling onto the engine case when the jug is removed. No dings allowed.
