The idea of the church somehow "emerging" as self-empowered independent Bride who replaces the work of Christ in her actions, is an erroneous one(as the kenosis error reinforced by Californian uber-churches maintains [study Philippians 2]).

The reason why Jesus choreographed on the 1st Palm Sunday the exact actions and speech of Jeremiah 586 years earlier, was to make the same point of the temple needing cleaning but to also announce that the very Messiah promised by scripture was here ...and of the same nature as the Shekinah glory Who had left the temple for good by Ezekiel 11 in response to the child-stealing of Manasseh and graphic visuals of Tammuz-worship (Babylonian female deity: typologicallly identical to the "Jezebel" and Artemis/Minerva types)....
.... And as such was now here throwing tables the 1st time in the aspect of Jeremiah before dying as suffering servant, Messiach ben Yousef, to be the blood-price for our sin: The 1st entry of Jesus(as announced Messiah) in AD 32-ish as suffering servant, means that His second, as Son of David ruling with an iron rod, is certain.
God had promised cleansing of the land beginning with the temple in Micah's time, now was doing the first example PHYSICALLY as Jesus...an action that pales next to when He comes as King. And really, you definitely do NOT want to be around just before then.
True, the Holy Spirit prepares, subject to our free will, the Bride for the Groom.
It's also true that the enemy replicates this, preparing a whore bride worthy for the incarnation of the fullness of antiChrist.
Thing is, she looks dead tasty. And if you see her with flesh-glasses on, she looks a whole lot more ravishing than the Real One too.
Which is the whole point.
