While the Zenitar is a perfectly good wide angle lens, I discovered that it could be used for a very different macro view on the world by adding a +6 diopter close up lens I have owned for several years. The lens is a 49mm thread so I expected vignetting would be a problem but the 1.6x crop factor seems to have offset this. I used gaffers' tape to attach a 62-49 adapter to the unthreaded front of the lens. I would have prefered using a 58mm adapter here so I could also use a polarizer (the 49mm one does vignette since it is much thicker).
