In 2022 I had some more information and came to the conclusion that many remains on the northern shore of the bay belong to the ancient city of Theimussa, an ancient Lycian city. This ancient city had its natural harbor where Üçağız Village is located and it is referred to as Kale or Üçağız in some sources. There is hardly any information about the history of the city, but from an inscription, its history can be traced back to the 4th century BC. In addition to grave remains can be seen, a door with its jambs still in place on the shore of the village and the remains of a tower on a low rock can also be seen. In the east, just above the sea, there are many sarcophagi that give the impression of being superimposed on each other. Most of these tombs belong to the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The inscriptions on the tombs are inscribed as belonging to citizens of Kyaenai and Myra. From the location of Theimussa one can pass to Simena (Kaleköy). Information about Theimussa is extremely limited, as no surface survey or archaeological excavation has been carried out here.
As I did not proceed to Simena because of road conditions these pictures are of Theimussa only.
