At the Bulgarian Churche of St. Stephen of the Bulgars. It was erected in 1871 and is entirely constructed of cast iron. Fabricated in Vienna it was shipped down the Danube in sections. It is a curious experience to knock against what looks like a marble column and hear the sound of iron.
I was informed this is the right door to enter to the Altar and the right side of the Econostasion= Iconscreen of St. Stefan Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Fener Istanbul. On the door the icon of Angel Gabriel, on His left the icon of Saint John the Baptist and on His right the icon of Saint Paul the Apostle. On Its top icons of the Disciplesa and 2 icons of the live of Jesus Christ. On their top the The Book of the Gospel open and behind it a Chalice of the Holy Communion, surronded with two Russian style domes.
