To Adana 2006 09 1782.jpg

I add some pictures that I took during a bus ride from Kahta to Adana. We made a short stop in Kahramanmaraş, this is the otogar or bus station, you can almost see the city grow. In 2024 I returned, and found this last statement proven right: we see a hill behind the town. The country nearby is empty. Now it is filled with apartment blocks of up to 8 floors, and the whole ridge of the hill seems to have turned into a modern suburb. Whereas it is a kilometre from the mosque on the hill to the old centre, it is 4 to 5 kilometres to the new edge of town to the east and the west.

yasemin, it's not what the city looks like that makes people love a country, it is the experiences one has. It might be ugly to you, but for others it could mean many things. You fall in love with walking on the snow to the cinemas one evening, or walking up one day to see poppies blooming just outside your window or laying on your back and observing the stars with a friend one summer night talking for hours......
