Some 11 kilometers from the new city lies a town - Battalgazi, still 11.000 people - that "was" Malatya until the city was moved.

This is the Ulu Mosque or Great Mosque, 1224. It was being restored, so I will mix these pictures with ones I took in 1997, so of the old condition. I don't know how true they will be to the result of the restoration that should be finished in early 2006.
