Antakya 7879.jpg

On my way to the smiths at the edge of town, who have a gallery of their own, I met a man who had a young and friendly cat. He was tending his grandson, and a shop where he would shoe a horse and sell horse-stuff (I don't know the word for these things in Dutch, my mother-tongue, so why should I know it in English). Some of that stuff had very bright colours, all of it was well-made. I whished I had a horse.

Wait a moment, do not send Dick Osseman elsewhere, he has not finished with Turkey yet, we want him to go on and that's that.

Just to be on the helpful side of things, a shoe for a horse is a horseshoe, a blacksmith is a craftsperson who makes horseshoes, and a farrier is another craftsperson who trims and shoes horse's hooves. BTW, I read your writings about your experiences and trips in Turkey. I must say, it's pretty interesting. And your wonderful shots all around that country, are a fantabulous treasure. I haven't seen them as yet, but I feel, your shots about Syria and Italy are as impressive. I'm looking forward and hoping, you will do the same for the USA and the Netherlands.
