Opposite the Green Mosque is the Yesil or Green Türbe (tomb) for Mehmet I. It dates from the early 15th century.
These tiles in the niche of the mihrab display a late-Ottoman design. They were made in Kütahya, and placed during a restoration in the 19th or 20th century.
The Yeşil Türbe (or some part of it) was repaired numerous times: 1623, 1645, 1684, 1768, 1770, 1775, 1818, 1825, 1863, 1907, 1941, 1943-45 and 2004.
