On the picture: A close-up of the upper part of the marble ‘Taşkapı’ (monumental main entrance) in late-Seljuk style. The elegant arabesques and floral motifs of the large panels on the left and the right of the muqarnas (stalactite) vaulting announce the later Classical Ottoman style.
