Birds
This mosaic belonged to a corner of a panel. In a frame birds are perched on a branch, facing each other on a yellow background. The birds are rendered in grey, brown, white and black and stretch a leg forwards. In Antiochene mosaics various bird figures are depicted with plant motifs and sometimes within framed panels particularly towards the end of the Roman Imperial period (3rd – 4th century AD). Some of them feature less colours than this one.
