Although already built in the 15th century (1427/28), and restored several times (16th century by Mimar Sinan, and again in 1714), the last restorations in 1940 and 1970 resulted in a mosque interior in the style of the 17th -18th century (central Anatolian and non imperial) house of prayer.
These colourful paintings, for example, are close to popular art and to the inner decoration of Ottoman mansions.
