The entrance to the ‘Katırcılar Hanı’ (= Inn of the Donkey Drovers). A caravanserai from the Ottoman area, out of any service nowadays. Evliya Çelebi (1611-1682), the famous Turkish writer/traveller, reported that Tokat had 13 large hans. Only six of them survived (more or less); some have been restored lately, the others may be in the future.
