On the picture: Approaching the recently restored ‘Şark Kale' (= Eastern Castle), a massive bastion that stood at the junction of the inner and outer citadel.
The inner citadel walls have been restored west of this bulwark (as can be seen of the picture); those north of Şark Kale wait to be repaired. The outer citadel wall that once started from here, can be traced, but is not visible anymore (only the west part of it survived).
