Southern Gate. A note indicates it and the “urban layout” nearby are exactly mirrored at the northern side, indicating they were part of one project. Sextus Lulius Frontinus, proconsul of Asia, seems to have planned it. The gate has three openings between two towers, which unlike the northern ones are built to a square plan (the others being round). Pieces of marble from a second storey are lying around it.
